Who You Are
A business-minded and self-motivated legal generalist, you will be the primary lawyer for Zinnia’s India business, reporting to Zinnia’s global General Counsel and working closely with its India CEO. You will provide legal support on a wide range of corporate legal matters. This includes crafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and vendor agreements, providing legal advice to stakeholders, and implementing robust corporate governance policies for the organization. You will provide accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics. You will collaborate with management to devise efficient processes, define legal strategies and support internal governance policies. You will also act as a key interface with government authorities and external counsels.
What You’ll Do
Provide legal counsel to stakeholders on a wide range of legal topics, including contractual matters, employment law, data protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management
Advise on personnel issues and applicable employment practices laws, rules and regulations, participate in efforts to prepare, implement and refine best-in-class labor- and employment-related practices, policies, guidelines, and draft employment-related agreements
Oversee governance matters and corporate record keeping
Define and manage internal governance policies to ensure the company's processes and practices are in full compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Create, review, and negotiate various legal documents, such as leases, commercial contracts, vendor agreements, terms & conditions, privacy policies, and other contractual arrangements
Manage disputes, pre-litigation, and litigation matters, including arbitration
Liaise with and supervise external counsel for outsourced legal matters, ensuring efficient and cost-effective legal representation when required
Advise and counsel the company's senior management on the legal implications of strategic decisions and business activities
What You’ll Need
Qualification in law (J.D, LL.B and or LL.M degree) from a reputed Indian university
8+ years of legal experience, ideally with a combination of law firm training and at least one in-house role
Proven experience in general corporate and commercial issues working in-house or in private practice.
Excellent legal and strategic judgment, coupled with strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
An incisive grasp of legal issues, as well as a learner mindset and capability to expand your knowledge in relevant areas of law
Strong analytical skills, meticulous work, and the ability to learn quickly
To be a good team player and possess a high level of integrity
Sharp, strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to a variety of internal and external scenarios and contexts
You have excellent written and verbal communication skill

Experience working into corporate legal teams, preferably product based environment.
