Job Summary
Our Client & Market Development (CMD) function is pivotal in making the Firm's vision a reality. CMD teams work across the Firm both strategically and operationally with Partners to (i) raise awareness, establish credibility and strengthen our brand in key markets, industries and product areas; (ii) win new business; and (iii) protect and grow profitable relationships with priority clients.
Clifford Chance's Real Estate Team is differentiated from the rest of the legal market through its focus on real estate as an industry. The global team advises on high value, complex real estate matters for a range of international and domestic clients, including corporate real estate, development, real estate finance, high-level tax and funds. Our Real Global Estate Practice is widely acknowledged as a market leader for its innovative and complex work.
The primary objective of this this role is to support the firm's Real Estate capability, both sector and practice (which in the London practice includes the Real Estate Construction, Planning, Environment and ESG teams, ("Real Estate")), through providing administrative support for the delivery and project management of client relationship management; business development; sales support and client pursuits; marketing campaigns and initiatives; as well as specific activities related to wider CMD function projects.
In this role you will work together with the local and global CMD & BCM teams, partners, lawyers and other stakeholders, to facilitate the flow of information and assist with the delivery of top-quality BD and marketing materials, provide organisational support on a range of initiatives and work with CMD infrastructure systems.
Key responsibilities
Client relationship management, client pursuits, sales support and business development
Collating and maintaining information including the coordination of regular reporting dashboards for the Global RE Practice's key client programmes (CRE8, RED and One Europe); for the London Real Estate Practice's Activation client programme; as well as any identified Global Real Estate Sector targets as part of the CC@40 growth strategy.
Supporting the RE CMD team and fee earners in creating pitches, capability statements and other client centric marketing materials such as brochures and contact cards
Maintaining the Global RE pitch infrastructure including key capability documents, asset class focused deals lists, case studies, CVs, global awards etc for use by CMD globally in relation to RE opportunities
Providing client research/intelligence on request, liaising with the central research team and the RE KETL team as appropriate
Assisting with financial reporting on the RE practice, sector, key clients and specific work types and asset classes
Working with CMD team/fee earners to develop individual client development plans and actions to strengthen relationships.
Arranging and preparing for internal practice and RE initiative focused BD meetings (both sector and practice), taking notes and following up on actions
Working with the Commercial Analysis Team to compile data on significant RE matters which are closing (across the network), to create a pipeline of RE focused matter reviews
Utilising CRM system to track interactions with clients, manage contact information, and document client preferences and feedback.
Working closely with the RE KETL team to track key industry publications to assist with asset class knowledge
Working with PAs to create bespoke client mailing lists, providing training to PAs and fee earners on our CRM system as required
Marketing communications
Assisting with RE events including client industry dinners, strategic sponsorships, webinars, seminars, client specific events, offsites and training organised across the RE practice/sector, working in conjunction with the Global Events Team on larger events where appropriate
Assisting with the coordination and production of directory submissions and awards including market research to position our work in a market context, as well as preparation materials for research interviews, directory analysis and competitor tracking
Assisting with the production and delivery of internal marketing communications e.g., sector communications, sector internal newsletter, intranet updates, etc. and supporting the CMD Senior Manager on global communications
Supporting on the RE sector social media pipeline including assisting on content development for our Global Real Estate LinkedIn channel (e.g. postcards, blogs, vlogs, videos) working with CMD and fee earners across the global sector; and developing and supporting on social media reporting to enable us to hone our content and approach
Supporting the RE CMD team on the development and delivery of omni channel thought leadership campaigns
CMD function projects
Supporting RE in setting up and maintaining matter capture as it is incorporated into our global processes
Establishing reporting from Foundation to assist with managing matter capture, trend spotting, client development
Supporting the process of transferring historical matter information (leveraging directory submissions) into matter capture format
Working with fee earners to ensure matter capture forms are properly populated for all new matters
Supporting the RE CMD team in the regular audit of capability statements to ensure all materials are kept current
Ensuring fee earner CVs and website profiles are maintained and updated on a regular basis
General
Providing day-to-day support to the RE CMD team as required ,Collaborating with the various Delhi and other teams to fulfil ad hoc requests.
Qualifications
Your Experience
You will have experience of working in an administrative role, ideally within the professional services or equivalent experience in a client development/account management administrative role
You will be highly motivated, a self-starter, committed to high performance
You will be pragmatic and have strong project management and analytical capabilities
You will need to be a strong team player
You will need to manage and prioritise multiple projects and respond quickly to requests which have a short turnaround time
You will need to be positive and flexible to ensure that the areas within your responsibility are well managed
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written (including strong editing and proofing ability and attention to detail)
You will be confident, resilient and focused
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of being pro-active and delivering high quality work
You will have strong general software skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Preferable computer skills include InterAction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
9 years of total work experience in a corporate/MNC
