Job Description:
As the Legal Associate at Sigmoid, you will be responsible for managing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting various legal matters within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts.
Maintain and manage the contract database, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and templates.
Compliance Management:
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Legal Support:
Provide legal support on a variety of matters, including intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the company.
Assist in managing legal disputes, including litigation support and coordination with external counsel.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Prepare and maintain legal documents, records, and reports.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all legal matters.
Collaboration:
Work closely with various departments, including HR, finance, and operations, to provide legal guidance and support.
Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Degree from an accredited law school
Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law, preferably in the technology or IT services industry
Strong knowledge of contract law and experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
