Title – Manager – Legal and Compliance
Role - Working as an in-house counsel for the company.
Mode - Work from Office (Bellandur, Bangalore)
Responsibilities –
Regulatory
· Establish and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with regulatory requirements /laws/guidelines in reference to the regulatory licenses (payment aggregator, account aggregator) granted to the company
· Liaison with Authorities/ Regulators and Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, responding to inquiries, requests, and audits in a timely and efficient manner
· Drafting of documents/applications for applying different licenses with regulators. Working on resolving pending licenses with the regulatory department.
· Closely monitor the regulatory landscape for developments, provide insights on these and their impact on company strategy to internal stakeholders, and support with drafting and communications with external stakeholders.
· Working on other legal matters, including intellectual property, data privacy, data protection, KYC, AML, etc.
Legal
· Contracts Management i.e., drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing of contracts entered with customers, vendors, and all other business partners.
· Drafting and vetting of different legal documents and notices as and when required by the company.
· Litigation management i.e., Managing and filing cases and complaints for and on behalf of the company
Compliances and Controls
· Compliance Monitoring by implementing and managing a compliance monitoring program to detect and prevent violations.
· Develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the company's operations meet all relevant regulatory standards and obligations
· Provide compliance support to stakeholders at various levels of the organization to resolve compliance queries, strategize on new products and ensure compliance.
· Assistance in Legal Due Diligence
Requirements –
· Have experience working with Banks, NBFCs, or companies working in digital payments, digital lending, financial services, fintech businesses, payment aggregation, prepaid payment instruments, bill payments, intellectual property and technology, etc.
· Must be an LLB with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
· A Company Secretary (CS) qualification will be advantageous
· Prior in-house legal experience working in a fast-paced organization will be advantageous
· Initial background of working with a law firm will be advantageous
· Maintain a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment.
