Reporting to the head of the India legal team, the successful candidates will support the Global Risk Management/legal team remotely with the following competencies
Take responsibility for a wide range of construction and services contracts, from bid stage to negotiation and completion, including contracts with clients, JV’s, guarantees, sub-contracts and confidentiality agreements.
Review client contracts to determine if insurance-related requirements are acceptable, including insurance requirements, indemnification, liability, waivers, and advise or negotiate improvements in terms.
Support the development and success of our joint ventures and other teaming agreements to establish and agree appropriate insurance requirements among teaming members, utilizing project specific insurance placements, where available.
Support the annual renewal and administration of Jacobs insurance programs.
Litigation support
Engage with internal colleagues to obtain required underwriting data for placement of both corporate and project-specific insurance policies.
Support pursuit teams’ evaluation and use of project-specific insurance needs.
Develop and deliver tailored training sessions to develop the knowledge and understanding of risk and insurance.
Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting as priorities shift.
Here's what you'll need
A law degree and a minimum of 3 years of post -qualification experience.
Knowledge and understanding of insurance policy wordings, insuring clauses, conditions and exclusions, specifically professional indemnity, and casualty insurances.
Expert knowledge of liability, indemnity provisions, contractual risk transfer, and principles of tort and damages.
A proven ability to review and negotiate contractual terms to ensure compliance with insurance requirements based upon Jacobs insurance programs.
Familiarity with global insurance program structures.
Knowledge of governmental entities and procurement processes
Motivated to be part of a successful team, but also able to work independently.
Clear ability to take initiative to define, analyze and effectively solve problems, seeking guidance as necessary, rather than waiting to be directed.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Demonstrate an ability to identify risk, good commercial awareness,
clear and effective communication style, and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
