Job Summary
Responsible for handling a variety of legal matters or projects across a wide range of business, functions and subject matters appropriate to their level of capability and experience. Performs more complex legal work under supervision of more senior level counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Performs legal work independently Addresses a mixture of routine and more complex legal questions and projects May assists more experienced attorneys in complex legal questions and projects that have broad reaching implications for the organization if the situation arises Reviews standard documents and contracts, and prepares filings Builds professional experience and learns the practical aspects of applied law, as well as the functions of the business Demonstrates some proficiency in an area of law, specialty, function, or geographic region Provides support or contributes to overall objectives and goals of organization May supervise and/or mentor one or more paralegals or administrative assistants May lead projects for the legal function

Education, Licenses, Certifications
Degree in law
License to practice law in home jurisdiction
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Significant relevant experience required.
Qualifications
Experience in independently handling legal and regulatory issues in multiple businesses that are customer-focused and include the complexity of plant and area/zonal offices spread across India will be preferred.
Exposure to restructuring and M&A transactions will be an added advantage. The ability to lead teams in a matrix environment is a must.
