About The Role

This role is term time only, 30 weeks a year, Monday to Friday.
To provide advice, guidance and support to disabled students with a range of disabilities throughout their studies.
To assess the level of support required by students, make recommendations and put in place support arrangements that are appropriate and individual to the student.
To liaise with relevant parties regarding funding for support required.
To act as an advocate in communication with University staff and external agencies as appropriate and agreed with the student.
To liaise with Wellbeing support staff, academic departments and other University staff to offer guidance on student support requirements and reasonable adjustments in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
To support and oversee with the Disability Coordinator the non-medical helper support network and arrangements including recruitments, training, allocations, communications, quality assurance, monitoring and review.
To keep confidential records in accordance with University policy.
To promote the work of the Disability Team, raise disability awareness and encourage a culture of inclusion and accessibility across the University.
To undertake specific duties and responsibilities as defined by the Disability Coordinator.
To understand obligations under the Equality Act.
This role will require a enhanced DBS check with Child's Barred List.
About You
We are looking to recruit an experienced Disability Adviser to join the existing Disability team and the wider Wellbeing Support Services. The Disability team offers advice, guidance and support to students with disabilities (including mental health disabilities) and works as part of the wider support network within Wellbeing Support Services and across the University.

The Disability Team is part of Wellbeing and Student Support (WSS) at the University of Warwick. We provide advice, information and support to disabled students and those staff supporting them, helping students to learn effectively.
