Location: New Delhi
Overall Purpose of the Job:
The primary day-to-day requirement of this position is supporting the Litigation Team in various contentious matters.
This role requires the individual to be skilled in commercial filings and have thorough knowledge and experience in handling IP Litigation.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate problem-solving and teamwork skills apart from interpersonal skills to manage strong relationships with both, internal and external clients. They should be adept at working autonomously/ remotely from the team/ clients while also being open to seeking and acting upon advice from senior team members when needed.
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
• LLB degree from a reputed Law School
• 1-2 years of litigation experience in an IP law firm
• Core understanding of IPR / Technology laws, Litigation proceedings, and Commercial filing
• Hands-on experience of appearing and representing before the relevant forums such as the Delhi High Court and other District Courts
• Proficient in drafting commercial suits and pleadings, particularly depicting complex ideas clearly and concisely
• Knowledge of pertinent case laws, precedents, and procedures
• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in spoken and written English
• Savvy with Technology and working with electronic files
• Expertise in using MS-Office (primarily Word, but also Excel & PPT) and Adobe Acrobat / PDF documents (including editing, bookmarking, pagination, etc.)
• Keen understanding and ability to comply with confidentiality obligations and working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent multi-tasking skills
Responsibilities
• General IP litigation (trademarks, copyrights, disparagement matters, etc.) and appearing before High Courts and other District Courts (civil matters)
• Legal research & drafting
• Preparing Case briefs and supporting the team in briefing Senior Counsel
• Keeping a watch on all LIT matters of the firm, maintaining deadlines on deliverables, and communicating on an ongoing basis with the clients and the LIT team
• Overall assistance to the LIT team and enhancing the firm’s litigation practice
