Job Title : General Manager - Legal and Compliance

Experience Required: 15+ years

Salary Range: 30-50 LPA

Location: Delhi

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance Management: Ensure the organisation complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures. Monitor regulatory changes and update compliance programs accordingly. Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments.

Legal Risk Assessment and Management: Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across the organisation. Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the board of directors. Oversee the management of litigation and dispute resolution. Negotiate and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

Corporate Legal Strategy Development: Develop and implement the organisation's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives. Advise on corporate governance and ensure adherence to best practices. Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.

Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Draft, review, and revise legal documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and protection of the organisation's interests. Provide guidance on the legal implications of various contractual clauses and terms. Ensure all legal documents are aligned with current laws and regulations.

Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor the legal and compliance team. Foster a culture of ethical behaviour and compliance within the organisation. Provide training and development programs for staff on legal and compliance matters. Represent the organisation in legal and regulatory forums.

Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, vet, and maintain templates for various commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, business agreements, product licence agreements, MOUs, letters of intent, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, reseller agreements, and master services agreements.

Contract Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with attorneys to finalise legal documentation associated with contracts.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; an advanced degree (LLM or MBA) is preferred.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.

In-depth knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and leading successful compliance programs.
