Job Accountabilities
• Review contracts to identify and capture risks and obligations for clients.
• Assess contract clauses and advise clients on commercial legal risks and exposures.
• Create harmonized and updated contract templates.
Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with counterparties.
• Liaise with business teams, in-house legal team and external legal counsel with respect to legal documentation for commercial contracts.
• Facilitate escalation of unresolved issues and put protocols in place for seeking business approvals before contract execution.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
• Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating domestic and global procurement contracts with product suppliers, EPC Contracts, software license contracts, technology contract, confidentiality agreements in the energy / power space including new or renewable energy.
• Ability to conduct extensive research and having a detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Company’s legal team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and perform under pressure.
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in law from an Indian University / Law College and/or master’s degree in law from any reputed Indian or Foreign Law University.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience as a Commercial Lawyer in the Legal department of a substantial and reputed companies or reputed Law Firm. Incumbent having experience in the renewable energy or energy sector will be preferred.
• Significant experience of commercial documentation in cross border transactions will be critical.
