Position Overview:

Lead- Community Engagement will develop and lead the organization’s strategic efforts to connect with, engage, and build equitable relationships with the Cyber Security Community, create and lead an engagement strategy and implementation of projects.

Job Responsibilities are but not limited to:

Direct, develop, and oversee Community engagement, outreach, and engage initiatives that align with the Organizational goals.

Assigns and/or monitors performance of duties of each committee member & volunteers.

Assesses the active participation & performance of each member on the committee.

Act as a spokesperson and figurehead as appropriate.

Leading /steering the committee in identifying the key governance decisions to be made.

Coordinate scheduling, assignments, and supervision to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Work with leadership to define, launch, and execute multiple strategic and operational initiatives at the same time.

Lead & deliver large programs that have impactful and measurable outcomes.

Accountable for planning and execution of global strategic priorities across all departments.

Collaborate cross-functionally across all levels of leadership to drive key programs and projects.

Influence program strategy in service of the company’s high-level goals.

Effectively manage change by influencing and communicating with key stakeholders. Anticipate risks associated with change management and ensure creative and effective mitigations are available.

Prepare presentations and clearly communicate program status and progress to large groups of project stakeholders and senior leadership within Community Support and in the broader company.

Collect business requirements, and work with Product/IT stakeholders to assess and prioritize according to operational benefit.

In collaboration with Leadership and Product teams, identify opportunities and advocate for product improvements and/or tools that support the team’s strategy and the needs of the customer.

Regularly assess project risks and opportunities. Leverage best practices and continually drive process improvements but work creatively to drive execution and simplification.

Required educational qualifications-

Master’s degree required in IT/Engineering, InfoSec, Cyber Security or a related field.

Doctorate preferred.

Required experience, skills & competencies-

12-18 years of relevant experience in leading & managing a volunteer group

Experience in EdTech or IT /Cyber Security domain is preferred.

Collaborating with a variety of leaders and stakeholders to develop and execute programs or activities involving community and external organizations.

Developing mutually beneficial and collaborative partnerships with faculty, staff, students, and external groups and organizations that involve teaching, research, and service.

Effectively creating, managing, and leading programs involving partnerships with the community.

Developing and advancing strategies, projects, and programs across multidisciplinary teams within the higher education and/community setting.

Attention to detail, writing, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision and with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to plan visits, events, and presentations independently and strategically.

Have verbal presentation/public speaking skills.

Ability to problem solve and research solutions.

Full understanding, experience with, and commitment to community engagement & outreach

Self-starter who has proven leadership skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

Demonstrated interpersonal, initiative, and self-motivation skills.

Preferred experience, skills & competencies-

Knowledge of best practices in community engagement and working with diverse audiences.

Commitment to community engagement, access, education, and opportunities.

Ability to work in a complex organization with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
