About the organization Jan Sahas, established in the year 2000, is a not-for-profit grassroots organization committed to promoting the development and protect the rights of socially excluded communities with a special focus on girls and women through eradication of all forms of bondage including manual scavenging and caste-based prostitution; empowerment of adolescent girls and women to end violence and gender justice, skill development for dignified livelihoods and social entrepreneurship; legal aid for access to justice and reform in the criminal justice system; land and agriculture development; develop barefoot lawyers to build victim or survivors as leader and empowerment of communities through capacity and organization building. About PVAWC:
Jan Sahas currently works on the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children in 10 states of India. The program was initially started to provide support to victims of sexual violence. The support included legal and medical support. The program has now been developed as a holistic and comprehensive support for the journey of victims of sexual violence to survivors and leaders. The programme in current form work as PR3 (Prevention, Response, Rehabilitation and Reforms) model of intervention. Jan Sahas closely works with stakeholders including the criminal justice system (Police & Legal), the Women and Child Development department (One Stop Crisis Centres, Child Welfare Committees), and Childline. The women helpline run by Jan Sahas supports the person in need from across the country and also provide referral services.
Key responsibilities area:
Manage and oversee different technical projects from time, scope, budget, and risk perspective
Create project plans and track deliverables
Work closely and actively with different teams to understand their requirements
Implementing new projects (software/ portal) as per requirement and creating plans to be able to maintain the existing applications.
Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring the team members are actively working toward established milestones
Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
Determine and define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives
Work with different vendors to implement tech systems and manage the work and the relationship
Visit different districts and states as and when required for program understanding, on-ground challenges, and support
Prepare and present progress reports for senior management and other stakeholders
Identify the resources needed for the project and work with different departments to hiring
As an individual coordinator - take up some technical tasks for delivery and completion
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant must be a graduate (BE in CS or IT) with at least 8-10 years of work experience preferably in the social sector, with at least 1+ years of project management and end-to-end delivery experience
Excellent leadership abilities, interpersonal and communications skills
Attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve under pressure
An individual who is a go-getter and who can strategize and implement large-scale programs
Listen with a design thinking mindset for data collection opportunities
Candidates who have partnered with the government and built relations to drive large-scale projects for 1+ year shall be preferred
Should be well versed with principles of designing thinking, planning and execution, budget management, quality control, and monitoring and evaluation
Capable of understanding technology to set up MIS systems and envisioning the scope that technology can play to make the implementation smoother
A strong local understanding - of language (Hindi), culture, terrain
Experience in working with technologies such as HTML, PHP, ASP.Net, MVC, Java Script, jQuery, SQL SERVER 2012, and RESTful web API (at least a few of these)
