Roles and Responsibilities
Implementing the collection and recovery strategy of the organization, related policies and processes, in line with the risk appetite of the organization
Identify and set the annual collection targets and delinquency levels
Plan and execute regional-level growth-focused strategies to augment recoveries, reduce bad debts and delinquencies.
Drive and track recovery strategy, planning and performance monitoring, recommend mitigation strategies, capacity planning, incentivization, alternate payment channels, and litigation.
Build and develop review mechanism that throws strong early warning signals and develop mitigation strategies
Prepare budgets for driving the collections and recovery activities through discussion with internal and external partners
Strategically plan and foster tie-ups with various interest groups such as credit reporting agencies, fraud agencies, legal firms and collections/recovery agencies etc.
Manage and ensure delinquency related parameters (including collections efficiency, roll forward/roll back%, NPA%, quick mortality, non-starters%, bounce rate etc.) are within targets
Assess and formulate collections policies and procedures that provide for timely collections and recovery
Identify and lead initiatives for process enhancement and technology adoption in collaboration with the Digital/IT team like triggers and early warning signals
Monitor monthly status of collections including performance of surrender/repossession at NPA stage, auction, days in stock, loss per unit sold and write-off bad debt collection
Ensure and check that collection and recovery policies and standards are being implemented at the ground level
Ensure that all levels are always audit compliant with internal and external policies and regulations
Design and implement monitoring mechanism and MIS to ensure that each parameter of KPI is constantly measured, reported, analyzed and improved
Set productivity targets & monitor performance of the Area Collection Managers, agencies of the mapped region
Essential Requirements
10-15 years of experience driving collections of the entire loan portfolio in HFC/NBFC and managing a team
8-10 years of managing vendors, cross functional teams
