We are seeking a talented and experienced Legally Speaking Editor/Reporter to join our team. You will be responsible for covers legal proceedings, court decisions, and legislative updates, creating engaging and informative content that explores legal topics, analyses legal issues, and communicates complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Duties will include:
Attend court hearings and trials to report on legal proceedings.
Conduct interviews with lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals to gather information.
Write and edit articles on legal topics for broadcast & publication.
Research and analyse legal cases and issues to provide accurate and informative reporting.
Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and legal procedures.
Collaborate with other reporters and editors to ensure accurate and timely coverage.
Build and maintain relationships with sources in the legal community.
Adhere to journalistic standards and ethics in all reporting and writing
· The role will extend beyond breaking news to writing insightful, analytical, and in-depth stories with a distinctive voice that covers topics such as human rights, women’s rights, constitutional & criminal matters.
