Law degree from an accredited university
5-7 years post-qualification experience in a high-tech startup, media and entertainment industry or in a law firm. Experience in an in-house law department and corporate secretarial matters, while not essential, is desirable
An up-to-date knowledge of laws relating to contracts, real estate laws, supply of services, company laws, ASCI, consumer laws, and intellectual property
Vendor management and litigation management experience
The individual will be a highly collaborative individual with strong business acumen, leadership skills, and boardroom savvy who is willing to speak their mind
Able to adapt quickly to changes in the legal and regulatory environment, the market or the company strategy
This individual will need to be proactive and complimented by a high degree of personal motivation and competitive drive. This individual must possess a high degree of energy to support a very vibrant and achievement-oriented team
Good communication skills
Responsibilities:
Good at understanding and legal documents with influencers/creators and brands
Contract Management: Proficiency in contract drafting/vetting including drafting MOUs/LOIs, NDAs, Lease Deeds, etc. and other agreements with a focus on influencer marketing
Litigation Management: Coordination and strategizing with external counsels and internal business departments for litigation matters, maintaining trackers and reporting the same to APAC legal
Corporate Governance: Work with the finance department, external counsels, company secretaries, auditors etc., for corporate governance, secretarial work, etc
Research/Regulatory: Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives. Industry specific monthly legal updates
Drafting legal notices and responses for and on behalf of the company
Overseeing corporate secretarial matters
Working knowledge of general corporate matters and ESOPs
Drafting, vetting and reviewing of HR Policies and processes and working with the HR Team on employee metters
Interprets, understands and applies relevant laws, legal and regulatory systems, principles and practices
Incumbent demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and adherence to core values of Company’s ethics and code of conduct
Coordination with different business verticals/departments, support functions, operations team and site teams to ensure our representation before quasi-judicial, judicial and regulatory authorities as directed or required, with emphasis on our product. This will include coordination with different business functions to reply to claims against the company
Work with stakeholders and external legal counsel on managing litigation and ensuring minimum adverse order against the company
Conduct presentations and seminars in coordination with the seniors to educate the company’s businesses and functions in India on various topics as and when required
