Job Description :
Assessment & Diagnosis:
Evaluate patients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and observational techniques.
Diagnose speech and language disorders, such as articulation issues, stuttering, voice disorders, and language delays.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the assessment findings.
Set realistic and measurable goals for patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Therapeutic Intervention:
Provide direct therapy to patients to improve their speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Use various therapeutic techniques, including exercises, visual aids, and technology-based tools.
Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills at home.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment progress and outcomes.
Prepare detailed reports for physicians, educators, or insurance purposes.
Document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Collaboration & Consultation:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as audiologists, occupational therapists, and doctors, to provide holistic care.
Consult with educators, parents, and caregivers to support patients in educational and home settings.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
Education & Advocacy:
Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on speech-language pathology techniques and communication strategies.
Advocate for patients’ needs in various settings, including schools and community programs.
Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Participate in continuing education opportunities, workshops, and professional conferences.
