Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Law from a full-time programme and enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
Experience:
1. 5-6 years post qualification experience (PQE) in a top-tier Intellectual Property firm. Has to be a hands-on full-time trademark and copyright attorney practicing before the Indian Patent and Trademark Office for the last 5 years.
2. Deep understanding of Indian Trademark law and procedure (both prosecution and contentious).
3. Strong drafting experience of response to trademark examination reports, oppositions and counterstatements, cancellations and evidence. Experience in copyright and design filings is a plus.
4. Portfolio management and Madrid filing experience.
3. Excellent writing and speaking skills, strong interpersonal skills.
4. Leadership qualities to manage a team.
Job Description:
1. Providing pre-filing advice, drafting trademark search reports, responses to examination reports, oppositions, cancellations, and legal notices.
2. Drafting UDRP and INDRP proceedings.
3. Attending hearings before the IP Office.
4. Managing a team of associates, attending client meetings and providing and providing practical and commercially savvy advice to clients.
Location: This is a full-time position in our Mumbai Office.
