Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal documents.
- Ensure that contracts align with the company's strategic goals and legal standards.
- Manage contract disputes and facilitate resolution.
2. Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Oversee and manage all litigation and arbitration matters involving the company.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Develop and implement strategies for dispute resolution and legal defence.
3. Corporate Governance:
- Advise the Managing Director and the board on corporate governance issues.
- Ensure the company's governance framework adheres to best practices and legal
requirements.
4. Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal advice to senior management on business transactions, mergers,
acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and assess their impact on the company.
- Support various departments with legal insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary for non-compliance-related matters.
- Handle regulatory investigations and audits, providing necessary legal support.
- Allocate legal resources effectively to meet the company's needs.
- Promote a culture of legal awareness and ethical practices within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; a Master's degree (LLM) is
preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of legal experience, preferably in the corporate sector.
- Proven experience in managing legal teams and working with senior management.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and litigation.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
