Job Description

The Manager – Litigation & Claims (Bangalore) role will be part of Claims Litigation Team and will report to the Senior Manager – Litigation & Claim. The following are the primary responsibilities & requirements of this job:

A self-driven individual with 7+ years of experience in end-to-end management of Consumer Court Cases, Insurance Ombudsman Cases and Legal Notices.

Impressive drafting skill require in drafting / vetting of Written Statement / Self Contained Note and Reply to legal notice.

Maintain MIS of consumer / ombudsman cases and legal notices

Ensure reply is filed in all Ombudsman / Consumer cases

Ensure timely compliance of consumer court / ombudsman orders

Regular follow up with Advocate in Consumer related litigation and ensure to comply the requirement of Advocate.

Liaise with other departments for collating evidence / documents.

In-person appearance in Consumer / Ombudsman cases

Ensure filing of appeal in consumer cases within the stipulated timelines.

Review the Consumer / Ombudsman cases on regular basis

Identifying settleable cases, negotiating the quantum and recording settlements

Maintain adequate reserve in Consumer and Insurance Ombudsman matters

Liaising with Advocates and other government authorities across India to enable effective representation before courts and statutory bodies

Effective and agile responsiveness to adhoc business needs.

Require good communication skill and presentable.

Ability to convey comprehensive opinion on claim related matters

Investigating fraud claims, lodging of criminal complaints, FIRs with the respective police station & liaise with the investigation agencies.

Drafting and filing police complaints with the respective police station

Drafting reply to regulatory authorities

Share legal opinion with business for any compliance issue

Drafting repudiation letters for various claims departments.

Ensure regulatory compliances by submitting applicable regulatory reports in time bound manner.

Well conversant with system and understanding of Data Base development and good hands on excel and data analysis.

Develop strong working relationships across the various verticals within the organisation

Understanding the workflow. Knows how to take things to logical closure.

Job Description

LL.B candidate having experience of managing consumer court cases and Insurance Ombudsman matters preferrably in general insurance companies.
