Job Purpose:
The position is responsible for handling claims across all Marine insurance markets (P&I, FD&D, H&M, War, K&R, SOL, etc) as well as commercial disputes that fall outside insurance cover.

Candidate should be Mumbai based Proximately Antheri East. Our office Emarat Maritime LLC is in Marol Naka, Mumbai.
Important Skill- Dispute Resolution, Minimal Supervision, Marine Insurance, Claims
Responsible for first notice of Loss Response Time. (FNOL)
Primary point of contact and responsibility for P&I/FD&D claims with focus on liability claims from inception to completion independently or with minimal supervision from the Claims & Insurance Head
Tracking of claims / disputes / claim costs / third party costs and documentation
Set goals to execute / close aging claims
Documentation of Claims and Costs till closures
acumen for Marine Insurance contractual clauses and various deductible structures.
acumen for Claim cost control / Report reconciliation of Claims & Claims receivables statements
Engaging and managing external advisers (experts, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers) as required
Issuing monthly reports on the status of Finance/Claims reconciliation and reporting to the HOD
Provide emergency and out of office response to casualties (mobile phone provided)
Processing debit/credit notes relating to claims. Reconciling invoices with Finance and third party
Collaborating with any ad-hoc tasks required to be undertaken by the team as directed by the HOD
Experience
Preferably 3 years in Marine claims handling / P&I correspondent/ Marine insurance broker claims division.
As an added advantage: The potential candidate should be readily available/resident in Mumbai and should have hands-on experience of operating all maritime claims with minimum supervision. The potential candidate should be accustomed to Marine claims handler’s workstyle.
Academics
Graduate Commerce (B. Com) /bachelor’s in law (LLB).
ICS / Pursuing student at Institute of chartered shipbrokers (Diploma Marine insurance as elected subject / PQE Marine insurance will be an added advantage)
Skills
Team player, Enthusiastic and Self-motivated learner.
Communication in English proficient level, Legal reading and writing is an added advantage.
Multitasking, Record keeping (electronic) skills are necessary
Tech savvy, adaptive to new widgets and interactive applications is an added advantage.
Analytical skills – Research, Data analysis, Mathematical skills
Commercially astute and ability to work under pressure.
