We seek a highly motivated, experienced team leader to join our dynamic team at Udayan Care.
Udayan Care is a 30-year-old social purpose organization headquartered in Delhi and present in 16 states of India. Its programs focus primarily on children and young adults. Interventions like child protection, education, and skilling enable and empower them to strengthen their future and live a life of dignity. Udayan Care also advocates for the rights of children in alternative care.
Objectives of this role
The Director - Skilling and Livelihood Program is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and implementation of the organization's skilling initiatives nationwide. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in project management, partnership building, and social impact. The Director will oversee all aspects of the project, from program design and development to implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
The Program Head would support the organization's plans to initiate the program's registration on the 'Social Stock Exchange' and implement the Skilling and Livelihood Program for Outcomes-based funding.
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive skilling strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
Identify target beneficiaries, skill gaps, and employment opportunities.
Build strong partnerships with government, industry, and other stakeholders.
Manage relationships with Key program donors
Represent the organization at various platforms and advocate for skill development.
Project Management:
Oversee the project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of objectives.
Evaluate project impact, make necessary adjustments, and report.
Financial management of the program according to the project budget
Build Donor relationships and reporting
Program Development:
Design and develop innovative skilling programs that address the needs of the target beneficiaries.
Develop curriculum and training materials in collaboration with industry experts.
Ensure the quality and relevance of training programs.
Team Management:
Build and lead a high-performing team of project staff.
Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project outcomes.
Collect and analyze data to measure project impact.
Share lessons learned and best practices.
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work, development studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience managing large-scale skill development projects – multi-locational with diverse teams.
Previous experience of working with the Government would be an added advantage
Proven track record in designing and implementing skilling programs.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of industry trends and emerging skill requirements.
Experience in working with marginalized communities.
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and other relevant software applications for project management and data analysis.
Reporting Relationship
The Director - Skilling & Livelihood Program will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the organization's management team.
