About the role
As an Assistant Legal Manager, you will leverage your extensive expertise in both non-litigation and litigation management to lead teams and coordinate complex legal strategies that achieve favourable outcomes. Your role will involve synthesising intricate legal issues, drafting precise legal documents, and providing strategic counsel to senior management. With strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you will thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Your commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity will be essential as you navigate and resolve complex legal challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation management:
Orchestrating litigation processes from inception through resolution
Experienced in handling civil, criminal, Arbitration, Trademark, Insecticide matters etc.
Legal drafting/drafting expertise:
Crafting clear and compelling legal documents, including contracts, agreements, opinions, and policies
Proficient in drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to legal standards
Strategic analysis:
Assessing legal risks, developing litigation strategies and advising stakeholders on potential outcomes and mitigation measures
Team leadership:
Leading and mentoring legal teams to optimise performance and ensure alignment with organisational objectives
Negotiation and advocacy:
A skilled negotiator and persuasive advocate with a track record of successfully resolving disputes and achieving settlements in favour of the company or the organisation
Compliance and risk management:
Implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
Litigation strategy development:
Formulating litigation strategies tailored to achieve client objectives while minimising legal risks
Case management:
Overseeing multiple litigation cases simultaneously, including managing budgets, timelines, and external counsel
Legal research:
Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and legal opinions
Who are we looking for?
Education:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
Experience:
8 to 10 years in the corporate sector
Familiarity with case management software and document management systems
Skills:
Proven expertise in managing litigation processes
Skilled at crafting clear, compelling legal documents
Strong strategic and analytical abilities
Effective leadership and team management
Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills
Deep knowledge in compliance and risk management
Adept at formulating targeted litigation strategies
Efficient in managing multiple cases and resources
Strong research and analytical capabilities
