Job Overview

Provides legal advice and counsel within a function, region or country.

Essential Functions

Provides varied high-level legal assistance to IQVIA India and its affiliates in complying with laws, meeting business objectives, protecting assets and minimizing risks.

Drafts and negotiates contracts with suppliers, customers and others.

Provides advice with respect to the protection and commercialization of IQVIA’s software, database, information technology and other intellectual property assets. Assists senior management within the function, region or country with matters such as, but not limited to, antitrust competition law compliance, data privacy, government relations, strategic alliances and civil litigation.

Provides legal support for mergers and/or acquisitions. Manages others where requested.

Skilled in managing people, fostering healthy employee relations, and addressing grievances to create a friendly and transparent environment.

Knowledgeable in disciplinary actions and process compliance.

Managing ethical violations by employees.

Experienced in handling information security incidents.

Addressing external escalations and social media issues from an employee's perspective.

Engaging with employees as needed.

Resolving difficult employee issues in accordance with legal principles.

Interacting with labor authorities, courts, and handling employee-related legal matters, including complaints, notices, and summons.

Managing all employee-related incidents and issues, including special cases like accidents and suicides, and liaising with police and external authorities.

Handling employee salary recovery/attachment notices and ensuring compliance.

Proficient in managing the absconding process and compliance, serving as the final approver.

Acting as the final reviewer for background verification cases and their resolution.

Effective in communicating and managing cases across all organizational levels.

Investigating and handling employee grievances, sexual harassment, and whistleblower issues, ensuring policy adherence.

Advising business units on various employee-related issues and providing extended support.

Developing disciplinary policies and processes, absconding policy, background verification process, probation policy, and dress code policy.

Managing workforce actions such as redundancies, bench aging, terminations, performance cases, and providing legal employment advice.

Qualifications

• Significant Employment Law expertise in India required and multi-country expertise preferred.

• Attorney with a minimum of ten (10) years of general corporate law.

• Previous experience involving a legal sub-specialty such as licensing and intellectual property, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, civil litigation, employment, etc.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, creative and pragmatic problem-solving skills, business acumen and the ability to work both independently and as part of a
