Job Description
This position requires a proactive and experienced legal professional capable of handling a variety
of legal challenges across multiple domains. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership
and communication skills, along with a thorough understanding of corporate legal operations and
compliance. This role will be reporting to the Chief General Counsel-HOD.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee legal cases in civil courts, criminal courts, NCLT, DRT, Consumer Forum, and other statutory Tribunals.
• Handle Arbitration matters from filing to pursuing.
• Manage police complaints and drafting and filing criminal complaints across India and Travelling
PAN India for handling any legal matters.
• Handle IP infringement cases, including filing and pursuing legal actions.
• Ensure timely preparation, vetting, and filing of pleadings.
• Conduct legal research and analyse case laws relevant to ongoing matters.
• Organize and present documentary evidence, analyse weak cases, and pursue settlements beneficial to the company.
• Communicate key legal issues promptly to department heads.
• Coordinate with external lawyers, brief them about cases, and manage their involvement.
• Report pending litigation to relevant departments and authorities promptly.
• Draft notices, replies, and other legal documents as required.
• Maintain Management Information System (MIS) of notices, litigations, and updates.
• Maintain synopsis of each legal matter and update as necessary.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (business units, departments) to understand legal requirements and provide expert legal advice.
• Manage an organized database of all case-related documents and notices.
• Stay updated with legal developments and changes in regulations relevant to the industry
Skills and Qualities:
• Excellent command over English language, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in drafting pleadings and notices.
• Procedural knowledge of Courts and tribunals (civil, criminal, NCLT, DRT, Consumer Forum, etc.).
• Strong liaison skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive legal matters delicately.
• Leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Service Industry preferred, with expertise in franchising, especially in education.
• In-depth knowledge of Educational Laws, Consumer Law, Contract Law, Intellectual Property Laws, Arbitration Law, and IBC.
