The company is rapidly scaling its efforts to become a fully integrated, global leader in aluminium production, offering a wide range of high-quality aluminium products. Vedanta’s Bauxite and Coal mines vertical will play a crucial role in this endeavour, being strategically poised to be the largest value creators for the aluminium business.

To partner with us in this exciting journey and unlock new values for the business, we are looking for passionate professionals in the position of Deputy/ Head Land Matters in Mining Business based out at Odisha. This role will be crucial for commencing new mines to achieve the vision.

Roles & Responsibilities

Acquisition of private land and resettlement & rehabilitation of families following LARR act and other applicable provisions for Mining blocks.

Alienation of Government land for coal & bauxite Mining blocks.

Direct purchase of private land for coal & bauxite blocks following applicable guidelines in state of Odisha

Securing right of way, permissive possession and other easement rights.

Conducting due diligence of the ownership documents for Government, forest and private lands.

Conducting Public Hearing/ Gram Sabha and obtain social license to operate the mines.

Negotiating prices with sellers to achieve the best price while still maintaining profitability goals.

Coordinating with lawyers, appraisers, contractors, and other specialists to complete land acquisition deals.

Developing budgets and financial forecasts for prospective land purchases.

Reviewing legal documents to ensure all requirements are met prior to closing on a purchase.

Reviewing and approving bids from contractors for clean-up and construction projects on acquired lands.

Engagement with Government bodies and business partners.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

60% and above throughout the education

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

12+ years of relevant experience.

Have demonstrated leadership in Land Acquisition and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R).

Strong understanding of Statutory clearances and relevant Acts, Regulations & Government guidelines.

Acumen for external stakeholder engagement and strong drafting skills.
