Looking for Sr. Legal Counsel for a MNC.

Location: Mumbai and Noida.

Budget: Upto 20 LPA

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer based in Mumbai

and have a matrix reporting to the Head – Legal and Compliance (APAC), located in

Singapore.

The main responsibilities are:

− Negotiating, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements with clients, merchants,

suppliers and any other party the Company may have agreements with.

− Advising on legal aspects of issues encountered by the Company.

− Ensuring compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations in addition to Group

policies, including but not limited to, voucher related regulations, payment regulations,

AML, anti-fraud, personal data protection and employment law in the operations of the

Company.

− Managing litigation, consumer complaints and law or regulatory enforcement

investigations.

− Implementing a comprehensive contract and litigation management system.

− Providing sound and timely legal advice to business units.

− Preparing and delivering training to internal stakeholders on key legal topics, policies and

procedures.

− Developing and implementing processes to analyse and mitigate legal risk.

− Managing external counsel and Legal budget.

− Supporting the strategic direction of the Company and the Group Corporate Legal on

projects and initiatives that may be allocated from time to time, including, but not limited

to, M&A projects.

Requirements:

− Bachelor’s degree in law.

− Qualification to practice Law in India (preferred).

− At least 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, both within a law firm and in-house.

− In-depth knowledge of the legal and business environment in India.

− Experience in payment and/or IT industry is preferred.

− Must have executive presence, composure, and strong influencing abilities.

− Self-starter, highly organized, and able to deliver clear, business-oriented legal advice in a

simple form in a fast-paced atmosphere is required.

− Proven track record of excellent judgment, analytical ability, critical thinking, negotiating

and risk management skills are required.

− Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills (including verbal and written English),

with a solid track record of building productive relationships with both internal and external

stakeholders.

− Attention to detail is essential.

− Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines.

− Experience in negotiation, dispute resolution, litigation and managing external counsels.

− High degree of integrity and professional accountability.
