About APM Terminal - Pipavav

APM Terminals Pipavav is located in Gujarat, just 152 nautical miles (10 hours steaming time) from Nhava Sheva in Mumbai. It has access immediate access to key markets in northwest India and the largest sea food export belt in India via road and rail, including direct electrified access to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. Port Pipavav is a successful public-private enterprise, managed and operated by APM Terminals (Shareholding 43.01%).

Positioned opposite two islands, which act as a natural breakwater, the port is safe in all weather conditions, even during the monsoon season, with wave heights less than 0.5m most of the time. During peak tidal conditions, water currents are between 2.5 to 3 knots. The channel length at the port is 4,550m. Due to favorable oceanographic conditions, the port offers day and night navigation to all vessels except LPG vessels (daytime only).

APM Terminals Pipavav has Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Status from the World Customs Organization. As such, it can offer higher levels of efficiency and faster export-import services. AEO Certification means that the Terminals' customers will experience fewer physical inspections of imported/exported goods, faster release of shipments, preferential treatment by Customs Authorities and deferred payment of duties.

Position Overview:

The People Business Partner (PBP) role is a strategic position focused on aligning people strategies with business objectives. PBPs work closely with senior leaders, building strong, consultative relationships to drive business success.

Key responsibilities:

Providing expert consulting and coaching, driving organizational change, and serving as advocates for people solutions.

PBPs collaborate with business leaders, talent management, and recruiting teams to deliver on critical talent initiatives such as workforce planning, high-potential talent development, and succession planning.

This professional role primarily involves applying technical expertise to achieve results, rather than directly managing teams. However, PBPs often coach or mentor less experienced staff, take on informal supervisory responsibilities, or manage processes and programs.

The role involves a mix of independent work, from setting objectives and managing responsibilities, to serving as a leading expert in specific areas, influencing long-term organizational decisions.

Progression within this stream reflects increasing depth of professional knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to influence others.

A colleague at this level works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area but will need supervision and support on more complex tasks. Knowledge is required for the application of practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes.

Solutioning is through a choice between known alternatives, within the area of expertise and the leader will evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the solution.

The job requires previous work experience in a related area, or practical knowledge obtained via advanced education.

Leaders at this level manage employees day-to-day and set priorities to ensure task completion.
