Position: Lead Counsel - Litigation

Reporting Into:Senior Lead Counsel, Distribution Business and Litigation

Business/Function: Legal and S&P

Location: Mumbai (Work from Office)

Purpose/Overview of the role: Reporting to the Senior Lead Counsel, Distribution Business and Litigation, the incumbent will provide legal and litigation-related support to the business at Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited).

Key Result Areas:

Drafting and issuing legal notices

Reviewing, finalizing and filing proceedings before several forums, including Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, TDSAT, Magistrate’s Court and others

Liaison with the Advocates on Record for timely: (i) filing of the pleadings, (ii) updates on matters, (iii) updates on the listing of the matters, etc.

Briefing Senior Counsels and Counsels for litigations filed by or against the Company

Coordinating with departments across the Company for collating information on any concerned issues

Keeping relevant stakeholders informed on the developments on the litigations

Proactively discuss legal issues and provide solutions to the relevant stakeholders

Assisting in strategically driving the litigations by or against the Company

Ensuring that developments on any matters are uploaded promptly on the systems/software maintained by the Company

Educational & Work Experiences / Key Requirements:

Law Graduate. Master of Law (LL.M) would be preferred

10-15 years’ experience post qualification

Should have worked in a mid- to large-sized Corporate (preferably Broadcasting, Media/Telecom) or a reputed Law Firm with Telecom, Media, or Broadcasting companies as clients.

Good drafting skills include independently drafting and reviewing notices, pleadings, etc.
